About Lantana
Lantana is one of North Texas’s most established master-planned communities — known for its thoughtfully designed neighborhoods, extensive amenities, scenic open spaces, and strong sense of community.
More Than a Place to Live
Set across the rolling landscape of southern Denton County, Lantana offers a residential experience that blends everyday convenience with an active, community-oriented lifestyle. From miles of walking trails and greenbelts to neighborhood gathering spaces, sports courts, pools, and community events throughout the year, Lantana was designed to foster connection.
Resort-Style Amenities
Lantana features multiple community pools including a lap pool, resort-style pool with water features, and a dedicated splash pad. Summer life here revolves around the water — swim meets, afternoon swims, and weekend gatherings at the pool complex.
The community center and gym give residents easy access to fitness facilities without leaving the neighborhood.
Pickleball, Tennis & More
Lantana has one of the best pickleball setups in the area — a dedicated complex with multiple courts, lighting, and a covered pavilion. It’s become a serious hub for the local pickleball community.
Tennis courts round out the outdoor sports options, giving residents plenty of ways to stay active close to home.
Parks, Trails & Green Spaces
The community’s trail network and preserved green spaces wind through Lantana connecting neighborhoods, parks, and amenity centers. Whether you’re walking, jogging, or biking, there’s always somewhere to go without leaving the community.
Multiple parks, playgrounds, and open green spaces make outdoor time a natural part of daily life here.
Events, Gathering Spaces & Connection
Community traditions — concerts, chili cookoffs, seasonal festivals, and neighborhood gatherings — create a rhythm of life that makes Lantana feel connected in a way many neighborhoods simply do not. The gazebo and event spaces host regular programming throughout the year.
Schools and Community Life
Lantana is served by the Denton Independent School District. School campuses often serve as hubs of neighborhood activity — from sports practices and youth programs to community connections that grow naturally over time. The schools are part of the fabric of daily life in Lantana.
Connected to the Metroplex
While Lantana offers a peaceful residential setting, it remains conveniently connected to the broader Dallas–Fort Worth area. That balance — established neighborhood living with convenient access to shopping, restaurants, and major destinations — is part of what continues to make Lantana desirable.
Long-Term Value and Quality
Lantana is known for maintaining high community standards. The HOA has played an important role in preserving neighborhood appearance, maintaining amenities, and supporting the overall quality and consistency that residents value. For homeowners, that stewardship contributes to the polished feel of the community and reinforces its long-term desirability.
Shawn’s Take
I lived in Lantana with my family for more than 15 years, and what stands out most to me is the sense of community.
My children experienced Lantana in very different ways — one spent countless hours on the basketball courts, while another loved exploring the hiking trails, green spaces, and nature woven throughout the neighborhood. Summers often centered around swim meets, afternoons at the pools, and community events that brought residents together.
Concerts, chili cookoffs, seasonal festivals, and neighborhood gatherings created opportunities to connect in ways that made the community feel vibrant and welcoming. Over time, friendships formed naturally, and neighbors came to know one another.
That’s what makes Lantana special. It isn’t simply a collection of homes — it’s a community people genuinely become part of.
